With regard to the proposed water vapour projection mapping displays for November’s EyesOnU2020 event, I just wanted to confirm that all proposals we discussed have been checked for feasibility and approved by our engineers.
Using a combination of water vapour and water screen generators (using, depending on venue, upwards directed water jets, downwards facing atomiser piping and fan assisted ultrasonic water vaporisers) the selection of large structures you have listed can all be set up as large scale projection mediums for high powered laser displays for night time use.
Should wind be an issue (this is mainly a consideration for the Fog Screen venues where a stable atmosphere is best for maintaining a coherent projection surface) these venues have been checked and deemed suitable for contingency placement of HoloGauze (a highly reflective mesh which can be set up and secured to create an invisible projection screen resulting in a holographic effect).
In the case of upwards directed water jets the speed and volume of water is largely unaffected by ambient wind, and in the case of ultrasonic water vapour generation (where we are effectively creating a cloud) we can follow this with directable projectors and use computer aided projection mapping to account for changes in shape and distance.
In summary, I am happy to report that given the locations, time of year, ambient weather conditions and choices of technology in each case that the EyesOnU2020 projection experience is indeed feasible at all 24 locations.
